Can someone please recommend a program for creating a photo scrapbook?

I'm making a music video from a song I wrote. For the visual part, I need a program that will display a screen that looks something like a page in a scrapbook, with a single photo and a caption underneath. (The caption will contain a line from the song.) I also need to be able to advance to the next photo by pressing a hot key, and either a fade or a wipe effect would be ideal. I'm working on a PC, and zdnet.com suggests the following free products:

Try Microsoft Powerpoint. Chances are you already have installed on your computer. You can do a number of things with that program. And nowadays they are teaching you how to use it in High School. Its simple, so it shouldn't take much explanation. If it does, you can always ask more questions.
